Opus Gluei Challenge - This Week I........

This is my contribution to the Opus Gluei Challenge #47 at http://opus-gluei.blogspot.com/ titled 'This Week I...'. And this week, actually last week, so hopefully I am still eligible to post....teee heeeee................the challenge was to use paper in your project. Paper that we use in our everyday lives. I used sheet music, really old sheet music that was going to be thrown away. I have played the piano since I was 6 years old, so sheet music is something that I use quite frequently. I used the top of an old tea can and made a paper rose by cutting strips of the sheet music, crumpling them up, un-crumpling them, and twisting the strips and gluing them around in a circle to make a paper rose. Then I cut a strip of black paper to cover the outer edge and glued that on. I then used my Cricut to cut out a few big flowers and mounted the whole thing on them. I glued ribbon to the back, sparkle mod podged the whole thing, and showed what it would look like hanging on a glass door handle or just on the wall.
This project gave me a lot of inspiration for what I can do for our piano/music room. It has been kind of ignored lately and needs new curtains, etc., so I am thinking about black and white done with sheet music accents. What do you think???????????? And now that I have put the idea in print, I HAVE to do it!!!!!

Costa Rica - Pura Vida!!!!

The pics are kinds of backwards, but that is okay. We were in Costa Rica a few weeks ago and had so much fun! We went ziplining, had volcanic mud baths, bathed in the hot springs, went horseback riding, body surfing, boogie boarding, had massages in the spa, wave jumping, and had lots of great tasting drinkie poos. What an amazing place! We will definitely go back. The resort was fantastic and had absolutely everything that we were looking for.................even nachos EVERY DAY!!!!!!!!!! And that is important for me, since I am a nacho addict. I had nachos at least twice per day. And believe it or not, I didn't put on a single pound! What is going on? I have actually lost about 5 pounds in the past month or so. Maybe a nacho diet is the way to go? THAT would be awesome!

Altered Tea Tin

Here is an altered tea tin that I covered with pieces of fabric, using.............Mod Podge, of course. And the sparkle type. Yummeeeee! Then using my Cricut, I cut out several garden type things and mod podged them on. I stuck a few lady bug stickers on and finished it all off with more glittery things! Great for pencils, pens, etc.

Altered Note Book

An altered note book to keep all of my important crafting notes in. I used my Cricut, LOTS of Mod Podge Sparkle (my new obsession), various embellishments, and flowers that I made from ribbon. It looks happy.............which crafting does for me!!!
