This is my contribution to the Opus Gluei Challenge #47 at http://opus-gluei.blogspot.com/ titled 'This Week I...'. And this week, actually last week, so hopefully I am still eligible to post....teee heeeee................the challenge was to use paper in your project. Paper that we use in our everyday lives. I used sheet music, really old sheet music that was going to be thrown away. I have played the piano since I was 6 years old, so sheet music is something that I use quite frequently. I used the top of an old tea can and made a paper rose by cutting strips of the sheet music, crumpling them up, un-crumpling them, and twisting the strips and gluing them around in a circle to make a paper rose. Then I cut a strip of black paper to cover the outer edge and glued that on. I then used my Cricut to cut out a few big flowers and mounted the whole thing on them. I glued ribbon to the back, sparkle mod podged the whole thing, and showed what it would look like hanging on a glass door handle or just on the wall.
This project gave me a lot of inspiration for what I can do for our piano/music room. It has been kind of ignored lately and needs new curtains, etc., so I am thinking about black and white done with sheet music accents. What do you think???????????? And now that I have put the idea in print, I HAVE to do it!!!!!
